    "Breeders' Cup Juvenile Division"
    By Brian Mulligan

The one and one sixteenth mile Breeders' Cup Juvenile is a combination of the first day of kindergarten and graduation day of high school. On one hand you have a new potential star entering a national arena, on the other hand you have the cruel reality of life that no BC Juvenile champ has gone on to win the Kentucky Derby. The main reason for this is a bit like apples and oranges. We all have seen precocious Little League baseball players who have just not matured as fast as some of the slower developing kids around them that did eventually get to the Bigs. Same thing here. It is grueling to be geared up hard from the get go rather than letting a runner grow into his skin and mature as a sophomore...

    "The Breeders' Cup Mile"
    By Lucky Matt Walters

As you are well aware Breeders' Cup Day is always full of surprises and the Breeder's Cup Mile is no exception. Let's look at the last few years of the BC Mile. Since 2000 there have been large win pays in the mile. Even when a longshot doesn't win the mile the board has always posted a longshot. In 2001 when Val Royal won the mile at a mere 5/1 and generated the smallest exacta of the last five years ($106) the trifecta paid a whopping $2,445...

    "The Breeders' Cup Sprint"
    By John Pricci

In the 21-year history of the Breeders' Cup, a.k.a the World Thoroughbred Championships, only The Mile on grass has proven more popular with horsemen than the Breeders' Cup Sprint. That might be because there are more talented sprinters than routers in the world at any one time, or because the speed game that's played in America is better than one played anywhere else. It might be, too, that American breeders are speed crazy and it's the young 2-year-olds and 3-year-olds that generate the most money at the yearling and 2-year-old sales, then, eventually, the racetrack. Or it could be that the object of horse racing is to get from Point A to Point B faster than anyone else. Or maybe it's because it's the one attribute that trainers can't teach and must be God-given. Very likely, it is all of the above...

"Breeders' Cup Classic Key to Successful Day"
    By Michael Dempsey

The Breeders' Cup Classic , Powered by Dodge is the final race on racing's biggest day, as well as being the most lucrative. But I'm not talking about the $4 million purse. The Classic is the final leg of the Pick 6 and the Pick 4, and there literally will be millions up for grabs among horseplayers throughout the country. For most of us, this race will be the difference between a winning and a losing day, and could be the final step to a life changing score. Hitting this race can lead to hitting a huge payoff, your friends carrying you out of the track on their shoulders for a night of champagne and fine dining at The Palm. Missing the race can lead you to hitting the drive-thru at Taco Bell and then returning to the OTB for the first night race at Penn National to try and recoup your losses...
