Publisher's Note
Another year has gone by already. Once again the autumn chill is in the air. The leaves are starting to change colors. Football is on the TV. That means one thing. The greatest day of the racing season is close.
I know it’s kind of funny to think of horse racing at this time of year with pennant races and college basketball in the near future, but the horse racing gods have determined that this is when the Breeders’ Cup should take place. The 2006 version of the Breeders’ Cup will be held at famed Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. The Twin Spires have held the Breeders’ Cup before, so there are no mysteries for trainers and jockeys like the year it was held at Lone Star Park.
We have assembled some great articles to help you make the most of the Breeders’ Cup. And I am not talking about having fun watching the horses run around the track. I am talking about handicapping ideas that will put more dollars in your pocket at the end of the day. Each of the 8 Breeders’ Cup races has its own personality. If you don’t know what to look for in each of the races then your bankroll is doomed. Even if you are not going to play all of the races on Breeders’ Cup day, take a look at all of the articles in this magazine. You might find a useful nugget that will help you handicap other races.
